Northern Soul, but of the rare variety – the sort that have always ended up on want lists of collectors, even though they’ve gained some fame on soul music dancefloors around the world! The set definitely goes past the obvious – as even amidst the world of Northern tracks, there’s few oft-reissued numbers here – and many of the tracks are from the Swan and Jet-Eye labels, both quite obscure.
